The FNCI is an entirely voluntary organisation funded solely by subscriptions, donations and bequests, all of which are spent on the purchasing of works for public collections. Joining the FNCI offers you a unique opportunity to support the longest serving arts charity in Ireland.
You can help by becoming a member of the FNCI, or by sending us a donation, or by leaving us a bequest in your will. We are entirely dependent for funds on our members’ annual subscriptions and the very occasional donation or bequest in a will. While the development of this website has been supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, we receive no other public funds. If we are to continue helping our museums and galleries we need more funds and more members.
During the year, the FNCI organises visits to galleries, museums, private houses and other places not usually open to the public, in order to see their collections. The FNCI also organises an annual garden party, a Christmas lunch and other events.
If you are already a member, please encourage others in Ireland and abroad to become members too. It is one way of demonstrating your support and appreciation of our museums and galleries and our national heritage
The easiest and most enjoyable way to support the FNCI is to become a member. As a member of the FNCI you can join in a programme of social and cultural outings and visits to historic houses and collections not normally open to the public. Regular events include an annual garden party and a festive lunch before Christmas. Members are also invited to the FNCI Annual General Meeting, held in Dublin, which includes a lecture by a distinguished art historian or practitioner in the arts, followed by a reception.
